Your Hosts Raymond and Margaux Parino

Tholo Matimba provides a superior rustic hunting experience in the Waterberg Mountain District of Limpopo, South Africa. You will be reminded of the hunting camp experiences back home. However, you will be in the bush hunting the animals of your dreams. Our off -grid camp provides all that you will need to experience the raw power of the African Bush. Camp is isolated yet still close to the main house for safety and is connected by 2-way radio. Traditional food and American Cuisine will be prepared over an open fire at our braai while you ponder the traverse of the planet Venus overhead. Dinner will be served in out-door Lapa on turn of the century Afrikaans handmade furniture. Our single room camp house contains 4 single beds, a full bath with hot running water and galley kitchen. The camp is solar-powered. There is no television and communication with the main house is done by 2-way radio. Your camp is surrounded by a solar-powered electric fence to keep wandering animals out while you enjoy a peaceful sleep under the dark star filled night.
Your hosts for your dream hunt are Raymond and Margaux Parino. Americans who fell in love with South Africa and live here at Tholo Matimba during the best hunting months: May-September. We specialize in bow hunting, rifle hunting and spear hunting. You will have the opportunity to stalk and walk our mountains, hunt from expertly designed blinds over water, rugged 4x4's and for spear hunting - elevated platforms. You will receive individual attention. We use third and fourth generation trackers and skinners who handle your trophies with expertise and professionalism. If you so desire, they are able to show you the entry and exit wound and path, and in some instances, retrieve your fired bullet or arrow.
Tholo Matimba is located in a Malaria Free Zone. In case of emergencies, we are located 10km from a new state of the art private hospital (opening 2027).

Lovemore and AndeleTrackers and Trophy Handling

Lovemore and Andele are Tholo Matimba's skinners and trackers. They come from proud, third‑generation families who have lived and worked in the Limpopo bushveld for decades. Their knowledge of the land runs deep — passed down from fathers and grandfathers who taught them how to read spoor, follow tracks through thick brush, and understand the behavior of every animal that moves across the terrain. These men carry a lifetime of inherited skill, moving through the bush with quiet confidence and an instinctive awareness that only true generational experience can create.
When a trophy is taken, their expert hands take over with precision, respect, and exceptional care. Every cut, every detail, and every step of the preparation is done with the same pride their families have carried for generations.
